One of the Carnforth based steam locomotive’s will pass through Preston and Ribblehead this Tuesday, 27th July 2021.

The loco is on a special railtour tomorrow, hauling The Pendle Dalesman to Carlisle.

The tour departs Lancaster behind the steam locomotive at 08:09 and will then pass through Preston at 08:41, Blackburn at 09:12, Langho at 09:28, Clitheroe at 09:41, Hellifield at 10:21, Ribblehead at 11:24, Appleby at 12:00, Langwathby at 12:15 and arriving into Carlisle at 12:52.

After spending two and half hours in Carlisle, the steam locomotive will depart Carlisle at 15:24 bound for Lancaster. It will pass through Lazonby & Kirkoswald at 15:48 and will stop for water at Appleby at 16:08.

Continuing down the Settle and Carlisle line, the locomotive will pass over the Ribblehead Viaduct at approx 16:59, continuing to Settle, and through Settle Junction at 17:18 where it heads for Hellifield, for a water stop, at 17:26. After the water stop, the locomotive will continue towards Lancaster, heading through Clitheroe at 19:20, Blackburn at 19:49, Preston at 20:16 and Lancaster at 21:25.

These above timings are all approximate timings. If you would like to track the trains then you can so on Traksy, Open Train Times or Real Time Trains the outbound from Lancaster is 1Z52 and the Return from Carlisle is 1Z54.
